JEFFREY LUNA

Man wearing a black fedora and gray shirt with a confident expression.

BIO

From an early age I was exposed to various genre's of music. From Country to Mexican music, Funk and Old School to Classic Rock. The first album I bought was "High 'n' Dry" by Def Leppard. Listening to vinyl albums was one of my favorite things to do as a kid.  What changed my life in music was the introduction to Prince.

In my teenage years, the thing I got most from listening to Prince was the thought that I could do anything I wanted as far as music. My problem was sticking to it. I attended every Prince concert I could. This really made me aware of how big the stage is and set the bar for what I felt a show should be like.

Over the years I worked with akai samplers, sequencers and drum machines. I remixed songs and made mix tapes. Everything I did was limited by what I could afford. After buying a Dj system from a friend of mine, I got into Djing for about 4 years. I was still scared of talking on the mic, but slowly learned my way around a stage.

My family has always been in music in one way or another. My Uncle had a band that played oldies, Mexican music and some Old School songs. We would go see them whenever they performed. At this time I had bought some Congas and got into percussion instruments. It was not long before I joined my uncles band as a percussionist. I would quickly move to being the drummer of the band out of necessity. I performed with the Smooth Action Band for about 5 years. This is where I learned to sing on stage and got comfortable with being on the mic.

In 2011 I found out I had cancer. This was an obstacle but made me look at life a different way. I wanted to help people more. So how do I help people in music? Being a life long Prince fan meant I needed to something more to help people. Prince had been fighting the music industry and very vocal about it, so I had to do this without taking advantage of people.

Getting through Cancer gave me the ability to work with a friend ( Rosalyn ) who is a singer and had some knowledge on how to register a song. Her songs were good and very catchy so we worked together on learning the business side of music and went through the ups and downs of how everything works. It was a learning period that I will never forget and really appreciate the time we spent and how hard we worked on reading, studying and learning the business.

During this time I Managed a band and two Artist

As time went by I started a Podcast, ( Love4oneanother ) and after Prince left this earth I decided to start a radio station. The original idea was to go terrestrial, but after finding out how much it would cost I decided  to stay online. Specially after gaining listeners and broadcasting worldwide. This led to meeting  Mr. John Sparrow who introduced me to Jellybean Johnson. I managed Jellybean for about 6 years. I learned a lot and was able to get his first album, ( Get Experienced ) completed as the Executive Producer. This time was an honor for me.

( People to thank:  Marty Bragg,  John Sparrow,  Kristen Lee,  Popeye Greer,  Jill Monroe,  Tonya Giddens,  L*A*W and  Garry Jellybean Johnson ).

During this time along with Marty and Jellybean we put together many shows that featured some great bands. Everything we did was to help local bands and Artist grow and expand their career in music.

This led to working with Official Biz where I learned a lot about music production and sound while working with some very talented musicians and got to be part of some great live shows.

( People to thank: Dwayne Cousins, Bunny Hearts and Diana Ross )
