DJ Jedi grew up in Southeast Michigan but at around the age of 10 was abducted by a UFO operated by the Electrifying Mojo. Once upon the spaceship, his musical taste was formed by the diverse playlist that Mojo played for him and all of the Detroit area, most nobly Prince and the Minneapolis Sound. Before his release, he was instructed to take his love of "The Minneapolis Sound" to the people of the world. When a confused Jedi asked Mojo "How will I know and when will I know", Mojo just smiled and said "You will know". The Funk awakened for Jedi in 2005 when he launched his first radio show "All Things Purple" on Holy River Radio. Holy River Radio would evolve to Emancipation Radio and his radio show would evolve to "Jedi Nation" but the attention to the Minneapolis Sound would not wavier. So much so that it attracted the attention of the one an only "Purple Yoda" (a name that DJ Jedi would coin, "Our little Purple Yoda, up there in Minnesota, teaching us the ways of the Funk), Prince. So much so that Prince gave and allowed Jedi to play "3121" first for the world at 12am on March 21, 2006! DJ Jedi would also interview Tamar Davis at at time when only Rolling Stone and MTV had in support of 3121! After a short lived retirement, Jedi has returned to manage "Minneapolis Sound Radio" and continue to keep the funk alive.
